People genuinly are relieved and feel better knowing one, it's not going to be swealtering (or it's not going to be freezing depending on what time of year it is) I'm still not sure why so many people live in such crappy weather. I'm not sure why I'm doing it either. But my point is, that being able to have those tiny moments of relief regarding the weather makes those moments so great that it would be a shame to live where there's no influx. Sure you could plan your weekends better, but you wouldn't bond with anyone on the little things like it's going to be in the 60's tonight.
I'm going to watch my softball game tonight instead of play because I'm not in the mood due to my hormones being wacky at the moment.

Don't walk away!

I overheard a lady tell someone on the phone to "Take off your earings and chains, I don't want you walking away from anyone" She was pretty insistant that the person not walk away from anyone as she said it a few times. I'm bummed I missed the alternative book fair though. I didn't know about it until it was too late. Harvey Pekar was there doing a reading or an interview, something. JD and I went to Seattle for four days and it was amazing. We ate all sorts of Asian foods, that are absent for some odd reason in Chicago. We also discovered there are a lot of crazy crazy people there! Chicago has lots of homeless people, but they generally keep to themselves when not begging for money. In Seattle, they were screaming at the sky, they were wearing 15 scrunchies and getting in the way in general, they were passing out on the bus and dropping their Mickies bottles at 10 am. It was nuts!
Here is your essay homework, If you were a mayor of a city, how would you deal with your homeless population? Or how crazy are the homeless in your city?
Thank you.
Miss Huang

Cuddle Rape

I have coined a new phrase based on my experiences last night. The term is "cuddle rape" and may be altered with various suffixes to denote past tense, present tense, and multiplicity. I.E., I was cuddle raped last night. This is actually a true statement and was the basis for my creation of the term. I know - it's quite witty of me. A cuddle rape takes place when one party forces the other to cuddle against one's own will by preying on the victim's kindness and unwillingness to hurt the cuddle rapists feelings. Now I know it seems that this is unlikely to happen but it does - it happened to me and in an effort to educate others about the dangers of cuddle rape I will share my story. I am taking back the night. (For those of you who didn't watch Beverly Hills 90210 you may not understand the phrase "take back the night" but it means that a woman takes ownership of her rape by telling people about it - thus taking back the night from the man or vice versa in the event of the rare woman rapes man scenario) Okay so I meet this guy - he invites me over to his house to watch a movie. I agree. I arrive with wine he requested I bring. We discuss former relationships and dating experiences. He sounds a bit bitter and I wonder when the last time he got laid was. Red flags abound in my mind but I desperately try to remain open minded because he is cute, has a really nice apartment and lots of nice stuff. He then begins finding ways to make contact with me - playful hitting, squeezing etc...I am not 10 years old so this type of flirting is basically lost on me anymore...I give him raised eyebrows and pointed looks to try and convey that this seems immature and not endearing to me. He does not get the point and kicks me as he walks to the kitchen to refill our wine glasses. He pours himself a bigger glass. Bullshit I'm thinking - I bought that fuckin' wine. He makes a few homophobic jokes (we were watching the Sopranos) and when I say I love gay people (and I really do - especially gay men) he asks me if I'm a fag hag...again my eyebrows raise and I try and explain that the fact that I like gay men does not automatically make me a fag hag. All of a sudden he's kind of laying his head on my boob and I'm thinking how did he manage to get there? Now he's holding my hand and rubbing it and I'm thinking, "remain calm, try to relax and go with the flow, don't freak out on him, try to enjoy it" I shift a little and he immediately demands, in an acusatory manner - like if I said no there would be something seriously wrong with me, to know if I like to cuddle...I'm no liar and I normally LOVE to cuddle, as long as I feel intimacy with that person, so I blurt out the truth, "Yea, I love to cuddle." I immediately realize the error of my truthful ways as he proceeds to grab my arm and yank me into a laying position beside him on his slippery leather couch. I don't really know what to do at this point and I feel so bad for him because I think he must be starved for human affection - I mean who makes someone spoon on a first date??? So I let him spoon me for a minute and I am slipping off the couch and we are awkwardly positioned because he placed me in this position against my will and I am as stiff as a board so I finally speak up and tell him "I'm not really comfortable" He does not respond verbally but rather grabs me and pulls me even closer to him and now I am in his vice grip. I feel like I am going to wretch but I am still trying to be polite and open-minded and then thankfully - the show ends...I tell him I have to go to the bathroom. Upon returning from the bathroom I find him still laying on the couch with his arms open looking at me as if to say "Come back here and cuddle some more." I throw up a little in my mouth. I make my excuse..."I have to get up early - I should go." He dejectedly says goodbye and doesn't even bother to walk me to the door. FUCK HIM SO HARD!!!!!! What an asshole! What the fuck did he expect? Anyways - I get to my car, check my messages, and lo and behold while I was getting cuddle raped, the guy I really like has called to hang out and I didn't answer because I was politely allowing myself to be cuddle raped. It's too late for me now. I really do need to get home to bed. I yell FUUUUUCCCKKKK. And that's my story.

New Jobby job

Yay! I started my new job and so far so good! My boss seems very cool and my coworkers don't seem to be jerks. So far so good! The work seems like it's going to be different, all these new applications I need to learn and stuff. But it does seem like there is going to be plenty of room for me to grow. So I'm excited about that too.
I work at the John Hancock building. 20 floors below where Chris Farley died. It's where Jerry Springer lives. Across the street from Jennifer Aniston and Oprah Winfrey. It's preeettty coooOOL.
I'm still in training and learning about the business. It's pretty cool. It's a Real estate bank. they buy and sell properties and manage some properties. I'm still not sure as to why there's trading done inside though... I guess in due time I'll figure out the business just like at Pharmingen. I'm so excited about this job. hopefully it'll be good.

Worst Movie Ever....!

No, i didn't have the displeasure of seeing MI3 (or MIIII as i like to refer to it) this weekend and, in fact, I was happy to hear it did worse than expected. I kept hearing from people that they weren't going to see it "'cause Tom Cruise is nuts". But I did manage to sit through Hostel and ugh. Ugh with a capital UG! I'm pretty sure i've got better ideas for a movie. In fact, how about one where backpackers get slaughtered in a hostel by soome traveling lunatic. That would be scarier than this piece of garbage. The premise was retarded, and the acting (esp in the beginning) was atrocious. Am i expecting too much from a horror flick? I don't think so. I want that hour of my life back!, oh, i'd just waste it anyway.
Recent movie recap:
Capote - Yay!
Velocity of Gary - Booooo!
Hostel - Booooo!
Donny Darco - Yay!
Charlie's Angels (first half) - Meh.
Lost (series) - Yay!
Stepford Wives - Meh.
Brazil - Yay!

Now get back to work!
JDM

Blowing up schools a la Myspace

I found out some other kid put a plan to blow up his school on his myspace account. Why don't I see these myspace pages? The only ones I see are ones asking for people to comment on their pictures, and fill out surveys starting with what's your favorite color, etc. I once saw a slam book, does anyone remember those from Junior high? god I loved those. I usually hook up with a guy first and then start dating him which pretty much just negates the whole awkwardness of the first date. NO JUDGING! I'm a busy girl - I need to find out if things are going to work out physically so I don't waste any time you know? So anyways back to the point of this - the fact that I really don't want to go on one of them because it's tonight and it's Friday and it will of course be awkward and I will have wasted a perfectly good Friday night sitting in awkwardness with a relative stranger. Is there any good way to cancel a first date? Or reschedule? It's almost like rescheduling a job interview - very touchy situation....One can come of looking bad for canceling on someone the day of the meeting. Plus I think he's kind of country which is sooooo not me...when I say country I mean likes country music and might possibly line dance - I don't know - it's all speculation at this point because I met him at work (he works for a subcontractor) and I didn't get a chance to find out much before I agreed to have dinner with him. But the rumor around my jobsite is there may be some line dancing going on....I don't know if I will be able to keep a straight face when the topic comes up because it will and the reason I know it will is because I will be asking him if it's true.
I hate first dates for all their awkward, uncomfortableness...weird lapses in conversation...obligations to be on your best behavior....ughhh....so maybe my dog gets sick, or my grandma passes away, or my cat escapes or my roommates car breaks down.....
Or maybe I just go, get the free meal, and tell him I have something to do later....YES....that's it! I can eat dinner and be a t the AZ by 10:30 at the latest...now why didn't I think of that before I typed all this?

Lost

So Chris and I just started watching the tv show Lost. It's growning to be my favorite state in the union! I love that place! It's so relaxing and there's a feminist book store that was great a long with some other cool shoppes. the scenery was really pretty too. And the lakes are just breathtaking! JD and I started off with a trip to the House on The Rock. it's a crazy rich man's house and apperently he'd rather have the worlds largest carosel in his house then feed a family in Samalia for a year. Ouch! When did I get so judgemental?!
Anyway, Silver Jews rocked, very nice, For a band that sounds like one guy playing his acoustic guitar on his songs, he sure did have a lot of people in his band. 6, with four holding a guiter of some sort. interesting. Anyway, I liked Madison a lot, it's very peaceful and seems liberal. So. I've got two fantasy baseball leagues going right now. It's great, one with my good buddies and one with perfect strangers. It's awesome. I usually do well with the perfect stranger leagues, and average with my buddies mainly because James always gets in my head and messes my game up. But not this year! James is too far away now! ha!
So, the first game I'm going to isn't even a cubs or white socks game. It's a Mariners game in Seattle. The opponents? My Padres!! woo hoo. I have a feeling, this weekend will be spent like all the others, with the good times killing me!

If you should happen to care....

Hi Huangy and JD! Just a quick update on the status of your friend Missy in beautiful SoCal.
Cabo was amazing - I want to move there. I saw Sea Lions frolicking in the Sea of Cortez, tons of beautiful fishies, the biggest fucking pelicans I've ever seen (seriously - they were a little scary), and everyone kept offering me mind altering substances (do I look like a persopn who does drugs?) - some guy chased me down the street with a bag of pot and pills even after I told him no, I had already scored...what a service oriented community! The beaches were amazing - all we did was swim, eat, drink tequila, and walk around - it was great! Let's see what else...my new job is fricking great!!! My first day I went and picked out my office furniture and computer and fax machine and printer....it was so fun - they let me get whatever I wanted...we spent 4000 dollars setting up my office!! Crazy huh? Then they bought me a cell phone and told me to start using it for personal use so I didn't have to carry two phones...what company does that? Thursday I told one of my bosses I was going to run to H&R Block to get my taxes done during lunch and she told me to give them to her and she would do them for me - for free!!! The bathroom has industrial sized boxes of tampons. They buy breakfast every morning. There's every imaginable flavor of Campbells soup and mac-n-cheese in the kitchen if you are hungry and didn't bring lunch or just want a snack....I feel like the luckiest girl on the planet....oh yea and everytime I have to drive somewhere my boss tells me to take her car - this really fun convertable PT Cruiser...good times! My St. Patricks Day was fun...I went to the Coaster Saloon with my friends Grace and Leilani and met a cute lawyer. There was a super cheesy but good 80's cover band and lots of shots and dancing. I miss you guys! Talk to you soon!

Happy St. Patricks day

Yay, It's St. Patty's day and even better it's a weekend! This week was really long, which I'm greatful for because I'm tired of my life flashing right by me! I'm going to turn 28 next week?! what happend to being 14?! What happend to living with my parents and being a kid? I used to think "oh well, if I can't make it on my own, i'll just move home to my folks" now I think "If I can't pay rent, get another job" It's just weird to think I've past that time where living with my parents is just not an option. How am I getting so close to 30!? Any why don't I have a mortgage yet?! Life is confusing. And I really just want to sloooooow down!
Thats it, i'm enrolling in my local high school next week. Where is my Tomagachi?

Making time

After a long day of work, that wasn't particularly difficult, I decided I was ready for a Vodka Cran. I called up the one person I knew who would be down for sure, JD aka my boyfriend, and told him to meet me at our bar, not that one, the other one, Goldstar. I got there early and noticed around the bar five random people and they were all women! I'm so used to it being men that go to the bars to unwind. I was very glad to see that in Chicago, women who like to kick back a few and unwind themselves... Yay women's lib!
Anyway, I was drinking my tasty beverage and reading a mag, watching Seinfeld, and watching the growing number of pool sharks in the back of the bar. Goldstar is like a hall, rather than a bar in my view. But again, I digress. So, I was having a great time, unwinding, and my boyfriend comes, makes a cute joke about it being "ladies night" because he's now the only man at the bar. He's really witty like that.
We later decide to have dinner across the street at the pig place. Pig Place? Yeah, the Hog something or other. Oh, that place we went and had the sandwiches. Exactly. So we walked across the street and enjoyed tasty fries, and really good beans. The cold slaw was dry. Whatever.
Anyway, it was a great evening. One that is simple yet perfect. I hope everyone has a perfect evening tonight. Cheers!
- Miss Huang
PS: to Missy and her husband, Kelly, enjoy Cabo!! There's a large Polish community here, and he was, apparently, a polish guy who faught in the revolutionary war. A hero if you will. So i'm guessing the bars in the polish neighborhoods will be going off tonight.
Many government offices are closed, unfortunatly, mine isn't (closed or government). If Chris K. lived here, he would definatly have the day off. Oh well.
Also, Sufjan Stevens wrote a pretty good song called Casimir Pulaski Day. The temperature is 80 degrees and the water in the Sea of Cortez is 70....holy crap - I'm going to be living the dream in 7 days!!!!!! I sit at my desk and gossip with coworkers telling them all the things I know about the crazy people who work here, I email all day long - nonwork related of course - I talked to my sister on the phone for an hour and half this morning about Martin Luther - not to be confused with Martin Luther King Jr....we were discussing Lutheranism as a sect of Christianity.....ummmm let's see yea, the phone - I've been calling all my friends back home from my office phone and talking for ridiculous amounts of time....Kelly and I are actually on the phone right now talking about going to Cabo because we really need some warm weather and beach action....It's 85 there right now....I think we might do it....okay we are doing it!!! Fiday night our friend Eli and I got really drunk and made a jacuzzi out of our bathtub. JD took his shirt off, Stephanie did something on her head causing all the boys to take photos of her butt, and Sean stole these snowman statuetts from the bar. Ah, good times. I'll post photos soon, as they're actually pretty entertaining. Oh, Sean ran over a deer. They named the deer "Deer Couger Melloncamp"
Saturday: I went snowboarding for the first time in like 3 years. I went down a few times and I realized i was just not having fun. The slopes were so short and there wasn't much powder, so I asn't willing to try anything really fun. So, I hung out with JD who didn't want to ski or snowboard. I was super tired and everyone commented on how pale I looked.
I love getting away with friends!

Hey Missy

Miss Missy.
I was just wondering what ever happened to the James vs Kelly&Missy basketball game.
My guess is that it was never played. I get it, powerful and sensitive PCR, just like that mother bear. hummmm.
What does (or would) your inspirational work poster say?

Love,
JDM

The Incredible Dating Weekend

Quite a weekend here in Chicago, complete with low, low temperatures, and lots of sunshine! Huang and I had a couple of little 'dates' in an attempt to get out and explore some more of Chicago. Friday night we ran out to the suburbs to hear a stand-up comic that we like. His name is Todd Barry. It was fun seeing him live, and he's pretty damn funny. Unfortunatly, we missed him when he played downtown Chicago, so we had to go out to the 'burbs. There wasn't much to do out there (lots of fodder for a comic), so we saw the show then ended up hitting up our local InnerTown for a nightcap.
We awoke to a chilly 1 deg F morning, and decided it'd be a good day to see a movie. "Why We Fight", the new documentery on the military-industrial complex, posing the question wait wait, get this: "why do we fight?" Anywho, i found it very though provocing, but am not going to review it now. Continuing on our date, we when to this french creperie and had crepes.
Umm, chicken-curry crepe, delicious! Then home for a videogame interlude.
And what better way to end a date, than meeting friends at Gold Star for beers and pool.
Fun weekend. Last summer I read To Kill a Mocking Bird while lounging on the beach, watching my friends play horseshoes (Go Team Drunk!) and everytime someone saw my book, they said "I read that in high school." Well now I'm reading The Grapes of Wrath and once again I'm thinking, damn, why didn't I read this in high school when I was supposed to?? This is pretty damn good.
I remember once talking to this guy (Chris, what's his name? He's the singer for the Gizzards) who was reading it and I remember I was so facsinated by the fact that 1, someone else reads for the fun of it, and 2 it was some old school book.
Sure I know some people who read for the fun of it, but most people don't. So, my question is "Why do you choose to read?" accompanied with "Do you read for entertainment purposes?"

(I've been watching a lot of Sex and the City lately, hence my thoughts then a question (or two) at the end; just like Carrie does...mmmm... But now that it's over, it's business as usual.
The Berghoff is a restraunt that has been open for more than 100 years now here in Chicago. And it's been passed down from generation to generation to run the place. But now, it's been passed down to the next generation, who is closing it and turning it into a night club. (yeah, downtown chicago sure could use ANOTHER nightclub... whatever.) Anyway, what kind of idiot takes family history and then poops all over it? I'm really sad about this news. It seemed to have potential, in that it was a cool looking bar on a corner, with kind of an old-ish flair (old wood bar and such) and a big room in the back with a stage for music. Huang wanted to see a guy in the band playing, so we went to check that out. The problem was that everyone there was going on 40, at least. We were definately the youngest ones there. We had a beer and heard some songs, then took off, as it wasn't doing-it-for us.
Headed back to our old reliable InnerTown to meet the boys and shoot some stick.
Saturday we headed out to the museum at the Art Institute of Chicago again. We like that museum, have been there three times now, and think we've seen almost all of it.
Tried to find a show to see, but there's no good movies out. Ended up at Gold Star playing pool and sipping beers till closing.

I swear, the regulars at Gold Star must think we're the worst pool players. I think we get our share of respect at InnerTown, but whenever we go to Gold Star (this is including our friend Sean) pool just isn't shot well. I guess it's just a good thing that the line there is never too bad.
Anyway, Sat. night was fun. Huang always seems to meet people at Gold Star, which is cool, even if it does end in an armwrestling competition.

Cheers,
JDM

Life is pretty good right now

Ah to quote a smart and beautiful woman, Missy, Life is pretty good right now.
I concur! After shaking my hand vigorously with both of his hands and telling me how much he enjoyed meeting me he proceeded to email me later that day and state once again how much he enjoyed our meeting and then he called me today to set up a second interview Wednesday where I will meet the CEO and some upper management people and we will prob negotiate a salary. God I hope this really happens cause there are so many things I want to say to my bosses here before I leave - ooooooohhhhh I can't wait for that moment when they ask me why I'm leaving - I daydream about it - I think about it when I'm laying in bed falling asleep - I think about it at work and when I look at them......The time will come...soon....hopefully....Anyways - wish me luck on interview #2!

Walk on the left stand on the right.

Chicago life can be really funny at times. Everyone, including myself, busts ass to get to work. Therefore, you see a lot of people powerwalking their way to the tall builings of The Loop. They're wearing scarves, they almost always have gloves on, and a lot of men where wool three quarter length jackets and scarves that are tucked in such a way that they're not wrapped around the neck, it's weird. (They all live in Lincoln park, too.) Anyway, I was just marveling at the quirkiness that is a large city like Chicago. There are a lot of shoulder pads (via the wool coats). Also, when you're going up an escalater, you stand on the right, and walk on the left, and if you don't do this, someone (like what happend today to some poor girl that may have been a tourist from some non-english speaking part of the world) will yell at you to move over. Not me, I don't have the guts, although in my little brain I am screaming "Damn, I'm going to be late and it's all your fault! I hate you!!!"
Anyway, does anyone else notice the way they're commute is always the same?

I'M A WINNER

Just thought you guys should know I won my first league game last night!!!!!!!! I'm back to the grind after another relaxing weekend. On Sunday, I played video games all day. I feel like it's such a waste of my time, yet, I just can't muster the energy to do anything productive anyway. Well, I did do four loads of laundry and JD did dishes, both of which are major accomplishments. Not because we never do them, but because it's a major improvement when they're not needed to be done! We also went to lunch at this excellent pizza place called Metro Pizza. The crust is super thin and crispy and really there are no edges. also If you order a slice, it comes out slider style. (slider= 6 whitecastle burgers stuck in two rows, like they used to do at the Stratosphere 50's diner, I loved that place)
so, you get 6 squares of pizza. Anyway, it's yummy.
Oh, so Saturday JD and I went to Woodstock, IL. Where they filmed the movie Groundhog day with Bill Murray. that movie rocked! and so did this town! Now I know that the film was filled almost entirely in this square. It's so funny. We ate the diner where the drunks were wanting to go eat, Angelo's. We went to the bowling alley, but didn't go in. Neither of us felt like bowling. All in all the townsquare was cute. And we took photos of all the cuteness. I'll have to post them on my site.
Friday was spent at my local pub. The Innertown pub. We played pool with our good friend, Sean, and chatted. It was a fun night, per the usual.
How was your weekend?

Pinky McPsycho

I have a secret. I have a temporary personality disorder. It appears once a month in the form of another "self". Do not confuse her with me - although we inhabit the same body, we are not , in fact, the same. I shall call her Pinky McPsycho. Pinky McPsycho has completely taken over for the past 10 days or so. She has waged coups before but never for this long and this dramatically. Usually she just cries at silly commercials and is a teensy bit sensitive and irrational. She has swollen feet and hands. They look puffy and pink and her feet can't into my shoes. This month she threw a fit in front of people, my friends, who have never met her before, potentially damaging my relationships with them. She huffed, stomped, and refused acts of consolation. She threatened, she pouted, and she gave dirty looks. Fuck Pinky...she's fucking up my life. Today she went off to my coworkers about my crappy boss in a meeting. She almost cried in front of them and could end up getting me fired for talking all that shit in my name. I tried to break through and explain who she was and why she was there but she silenced me with fake rationalizations like, "You can't tell your coworkers you're temporarily insane right now - it'll make you look unstable." So I was quiet and watched in horror as everyone sat and listened to her go on and on and on. The older I get, the more potent Pinky becomes. She didn't exist until I was about 20. Then all of a sudden, she was there, crying at silly commercials and making everyone laugh with her ladylike simpering irrationality. My ex thought she was cute. After a few years she started calling him names and he stopped thinking she was cute and stayed away when she was around.....and it keeps getting worse - so guess what? I'm offing her. I won't be held prisoner by this hormone ho! I have a doctors appt on Friday and I will demand drugs that will kill her because I refuse to be taken over by some crying, pouting, stomping, simpering, bitchy bitch who wants to ruin my life, alienate me from my friends, and get me fired.!!!! Take that Pinky McPsycho! You're through!

Wicked

Yay, JD and I are going to see the show Wicked tonight. He got me tickets for Chanamas. And our day finally came to go see it! I'm so excited, i've wanted to see this play forever. The last time I saw a play was more than two years ago. (It was The Graduate).
We're going to the Oriental Theater tonight, it's a really nice theater right smack dab in the middle of dowtown Chicago.
I'm really excited. So excited that I'm not even the least bit perturbed that I had a 7 am meeting with a person who forgot about it... I woke up at 6 am! I usually wake up at 8. But it's okay, he's busy and I know that a meeting that early was bound to get jumbled up. I'm not sure why he scheduled it that early, but I guess he was being optamistic. Which is commendable really... =)

Asking co-workers for spare change

I forgot my wallet at home and was found stranded. I see his point, but I hate him anyway. So, I hate asking people for money. Except my boyfriend, I see no reason why I cant say "hey, buy me a vodka Cran or two" because I know I spend money on him so it works out at the end of the week.
so, i broke down and asked to borrow 1.50. Cal for my brother'swedding.-On trip one, we took a northern route through Colorado, South Dakota and Minnesota. We arrived inChicago, found places to live, then traveled out to Milwaukee and down to St. Louis.-On the way back from San Diego the second time, wetraveled through New Mexico, Texas, and Tennessee. We had an overall great time, and have finally gotten the photos ready and up on the web (complete with somefunny captions!) check them out at www.goldnlane.com/ob Click on "Road Trip to Chicago" on the right. I say minimum six because at this shockingly high rate of attendance who knows how many more might cross my path. The biggest offender in the office has assaulted my vision for the third time this week.....Yesterday it was very long (to the knees) and white with an outdoorsy scene (evergreens and snowflakes) and was combined with black stretch pants and flats. Today it is green with a big santa face on it....The beard is made of stuffed animal fur, and the ball on Santa's hat actually swings free from the garment by a tiny little string...Santa's eyes are big shiny black buttons taunting me...."Missy - go ahead, mock her to your co-workers....I know you want to talk about it with someone...no one will find out....people don't gossip in offices..." I'm not much of a Martha fan, but i've wondered what exactly goes into Egg Nog. So i dropped the remote, and waited patiently.
Then there she was. Ugh. Well, lets see how it's done anyway.

Egg yolks - ok, i guess i expected that.
1.5 cups sugar - understandable
1 quart (that's 4 cups) whole milk - that's why i buy it in the "dairy" section.
1.5 quarts heavy cream - no wonder it tastes good
3 cups of Bourbon - really? That's almost an entire bottle.
2 cups of Cognac - uh huh, more than half a bottle...
0.5 cup of Rum - i see.

She swears it's better than the stuff i get at the store and i don't doubt it!
Jesus Martha, that concoction is 30% alcohol!
That's what i call holiday spirit. An all-around-fun time, though nothing in particular that i wanted to write about.
I did, however, do some shopping with my girlfriend. I was browsing for Christmas gifts for my family, and all i ended up getting, were a few ideas.
So as i was on the internet this morning, looking for more gifts ideas, when i came across an article disussing horrible gifts. This made me think of a buddy of mine who once got a watch that also functioned as a tv remote. As bad as it sounds, we did manage to have some fun with it in randoms bars while we were in college (that's right, he wore it!).
This also got me to thinking about some of the gifts i'd been given. I think the worst ever was a clock. It had different birds at every hour-mark, and when that hour struck, it played that bird's call.

In case you're curious, some of the funnier gifts seen this morning on the web were:

So you're SUV looks like you use it for other than getting groceries:
Spray On Mud
So you can take your pet for a walk:
The Pet Stroller
And here's
my bird clock

Have any particularly-bad-gift stories? People are changing teams left and right. It's so weird. how can you like one team and not a bunch of others when you start liking one guy and he goes to a different team. For instance. I love Aaron Rowand from White Sox. But now that he's with the Phillies, how do I not root for them too!? I'm so confused as to where my loalties lie! I still love the Padres, of course. But what happens if a-Rod joins the Padres?!!? I can't root for him! I just don't know how people do it.

Hot Pockets

Just having a Hot Pocket for lunch and wanted to tell you about it.
[The first bite tastes nice, warn, dough-y]
It's a pepperoni pizza hotpocket.
